Banks of the Suir

THis is really a Slow Air I heard from a recording of Sean Ryan “Take the air”.

Gan Ainm

Aoifa Granville is playing this beautiful slow air or song (sorry : always no other place than in Waltzes for that kind of tune in The Session at this time, alas 🙁 )
here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9VHORgQkQc

She gives the name in the video, but I don’t understand. If anybody could, he would be welcome !

Re: Gan Ainm

Thank you Marin, it looks like it, indeed.

Re: Gan Ainm

Your transcription have the notes from the video, but there is something with the note lengths and bar lines that don’t make a lot of sense - even if this may not be the typical waltz, many phrases are pickup phrases from the bar before. (Your G2A and de/f/ should be at the end)

Re: Gan Ainm

Is there a way to put all that in the banks of the Suir first transcription page ?
Jeff : I agree. The bars only match with the breath of Aoife. And of course the 3/4 doesn’t mean anything.

Re: The Banks Of The Suir

Aoife said :“It’s similar to the Banks of the Suir but I play it from the Setting of the Song ”An Buachaillín Donn“ - there are a few differences here and there!”
