Just re-discovered this mighty little album, to which I haven’t listened for too long. Great jig, also.
This setting is almost identical as the tune published in P.W. Joyce’s Old Irish Music and Songs (1909), p. 339, no. 677. Joyce wrote : “From Mr. MacDowell. Winnington or Winningtown is in Wexford.”
