One of Junior Crehan’s?
Stack of Oats?
I know this tune from a recent recording by Hugh and Colm Healy. They call it "Stack of Oats." It seems Choirce means oats in Gaelic.
i have an abc file with a version of this attributed to junior crehan, i don’t remember whose file it was but the version is from doug patience, scarriff.
Dougie Patience
That would be fiddler Dougie Patience, one time resident of Aberdeen. Please give him my best wishes next time you see him.
“The Little Stack of Oats”
~ a hornpipe by Junior Crehan, and to distinguish it from the ‘barndance’ with a similar name…

I think this is rather plain as a hornpipe. It plays better as a reel, with a few minor adjustments.
Watch Kitty Hayes and Peter Laban play this tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5l211NlYto
Really nice as a lilting reel, Dan Possumato of Portand Oregon has it on his latest - Pulling Out the Stops
