Heard Dylan Foley play James Kelly’s setting at a house concert last night. Quite lovely indeed!

The Buck In The Woods, X:5

I learnt this from Seán Potts this year in Spiddal. He played it quite straight (as written) at first to teach it, but when he played it through a few times he added runs and different jumps throughout. Often instead of playing GG at the start of the first part, he would play GB, especially when playing it faster.

oops! I’ve just noticed, this isn’t The Buck In The Woods at all, although, that’s what Seán called it, it’s The Humour’s of Ballingarry!
