Biddy the Bold
This tune appears on Providence III by Providence.
Biddy the Bowl Wife
One of the first jigs I ever learnt over thirty years ago and one that was very much a standard common tune amongst musicians.
My ‘B’ music is somewhat different though:

Scottish tune maybe??
Biddy the Bowl wife
Forgot to say and no doubt it has already been recognised as being in ‘G’.
I suspect there may be an octave issue with a few phrases in the version posted here - or maybe it’s meant to be like that. Anyway, this is how I have it:

Here’s how I hear it on Connie O’Connell’s recording,

I’m not very good with ABCs, so any corrections are welcome.

Biddy The Bold, X:6
Slightly simplified notation but mostly same as version 4.

I know this as "Biddy the Bowl-wife", played for the Irish dance called "The Waves of Tory". This the top line of the piano setting from Book One of THE IRISH FOLK DANCE BOOK (music arr. by J Michael Diack), dance arrangements and intro by Peadar O’Rafferty. Patersons Pub’ns. Copyright in USA 1934! My book originally cost 3/- …. and it has a fine green cover with shamrocks round the sides.
By the way, Bk Two has rather more complex tunes, including "The Sweets of May" (lovely).
