The Fair Maid Of Whickham
A simple little Northumbrian jig that I’ve been playing for some years.
A version appears in the Vickers ms:
T: Fair Maid of Whikam [sic.]
S: William Vickers ms. (1770)

This jig reminds me of The Maid in the Meadow: https://thesession.org/tunes/942
Fair Maid of Whickham
I have a vested interested in this tune as my partner is a lass who comes from Whickham.
Its not a great tune but its always worth a couple of times round. we couple it with a couple of tunes claimes by Jack Armstrong - Beddligton Hoppings and another one which i can’t remember at this stage of the evening.
