This tune has an unusual structure. The short third part is actually more like the end of the second part.

The second part has a lot of high, long notes. These can be rolled or turned into triplets. For instance, you could start the second part with BAB GAG instead of just B and G.

Who might this Johnny Boyle be?

Re: Johnny Boyle’s

I love this jig. I’ve only ever heard it on the Brass Fiddle, but it’s mighty! I love the high pitched notes of the B part, it sounds so cheery! Fun and straightforward to play too, lots of room for onamentation.

The 2 "settings" above are actually 2 completely different tunes.

Re: Johnny Boyle’s

This might be a set dance, with those extra bars as part 3 ?
Bit like Saint Patrick’s Day.

Sounds pretty when played at a slow dance speed.
