Nice tune Gian Marco, and thanks for catching Patrick’s signature approach to a tune, with the delicate triplets. I haven’t heard all the tracks on Live at Mona’s, such as this one, but just from your abcs I can hear Ourceau’s styles coming through. Well done.
Gian Marco, you really do seem to be able to find some real gems - great one this.
On the fantastic cd "Tracin´" which Patrick Ourceau recorded with Gearóid Ó hAllhmhurráin, this tune is seemingly listed as McAuliff´s "Mason".
Maids of Tulla makes an appearance as nr.783 in O´Neill´s. It looks like a midway station between Mason´s Apron and the tune entered in this forum as Maids of Tulla.
Thanks Gian Marco. I’ll be working on this later today.
The Maids Of Tulla (reel)
This tune has been known in Scotland for a couple of centuries as "The Marquis of Tullibardine". Patrick Ourceau’s version is even more removed from the Scots tune, but the elements are still there.
