Stranger at the Gate
A fine Benedict Koehler reel from Paddy O’Brien recording of the same name.
Another one of the Pigeon on the Gate/ Hut in the Bog family
You must have a different Paddy O’Brien recording of the same name than the one I have! The tune Paddy plays (at least on my record :-) ) is in Gm and nothing like what you have posted.
I suspect Benedict may have composed it in Am. I’ll find out from him and transcribe either Paddy O’Brien’s setting, or Benedict’s, and post in due course.
Stranger on the Gate - very different
I transcribed this version from Barry Kerr’s youtube clip - it’s very, very different. Anyone know which is closer to the original?

Stranger At The Gate, X:3
Version from a memory of Cormac Breatnach’s playing of this fine Benedict Koehler tune.
