A Good Night’s Sleep

This is one of my own compositions. I’ve transcribed it in its original key of 4 sharps. The bright sound of this key reminded me of that ultra-alert feeling you get when you wake up from a long, undisturbed sleep. It also works in Amix and Gmix, although you can’t avoid weird accidentals whichever key you choose. Gmix might work ok on fiddle.

I take it you’ve lost sleep over this one…
Nice tune Mark…fun…but a lavender pomander might do better at giving you a restful sleep, God know getting p*ssed doesn’t work… ;-)

I’ve just realised that the midi player doesn’t play the high octave Gnat properly at the 3rd (full) bar of the B-part. The abc has been altered.

“A Good Night’s Sleep” ~ Duh mix ~

The first take on this is the flute/whistle friendly version, meaning no need for half-holing if you aren’t comfortable with that, and the second is just a very slight variation on the A Mix version already given above, I think :-/ ~

the only tune in b mixolydian :) I play it with my 6-keyed flute. Playing in that scale gives a different but nice sound to a tune
