The Hen and Her Brood?
The Repeal of the Union appears on The Best of the Chieftains - I don’t know which album it originally came from. It’s a real piping tune. Those D-E-D groups in bars 1 and 4 of the first part can be played as D-crans, or the E-D can be made into an F#-E-D triplet.
I’ve never come across it under any other name before. There is quite a different tune called The Hen and Her Brood, which I posted in The Session a few months ago.
Repeal of the union
This is also sometimes played with F naturals.
The Chieftains played The Repeal of the Union as the second tune of track 6 (No. 6 The Coombe) on The Chieftains 7.
