Three comments

Ciaran Dunne’s

Ciaran is a very fine flute player from Dublin. I met him in the 1980s a couple of times, and briefly at the Willie Clancy week a couple of years ago. This is from a recording of him in a Miltown session in 1986. Haven’t heard anyone else play this, but there are echoes of “Within A Mile Of Dublin”, and several other tunes in it , in my opinion. I’ve given it his name, unless anyone else knows it.

Nice. The first part is indeed like “Within a Mile of Dublin”. I’ve never heard of Ciaran Dunne but I’ll keep him in mind and look out for some recordings.
