Slip on Ice

This tune came to me as I was sitting at home in the freezing cold trying to find a new slip-jig set to teach people at a session the following day. I was looking for something catchy and up-beat, as I feel there are not so many slip jigs with these qualities. When the tune came to me I felt it seemed quirky and lively, yet also felt pretty cold. I thought the title depicts this pretty well, although it is a poor joke! Someone rightly pointed out to me that ‘Slip On Shoes’ would be worse. Anyone want to write ‘Slip On Shoes’?

Found this!

Hey Martin. Was looking around for slip jigs in Dm and found this. Always thought "The Kid on the Mountain" represented the "pinnacle" (pun intended) of the 9/8 genre. Damn, but this one is as good as it gets. Thinking that "Kid" may have just "slipped" (Puns only get worse the more you work them, don’t they?) or got pushed off his peak. Working out a fingerstyle arrangement for guitar for it. Thanks much for this one!
