Same Title, Different Tune

Very similar to the Heathery Breeze. I think I first saw this in a book, the learned it and just played it whenever, I figured no one at a session would know it. It is a fun little tune.

Old Pigeon on the Gate

A nicely set version of this tune appear’s in Matt Cranich’s "The Irish Fiddle Book" and is included on the instructional CD.

Old Pigeon

For what it’s worth, here is the version as played by Na Fili on their 1971 album, which they call Carnanban. Perhaps they got their version from Breathnach’s Ceol Rince vol. 1, as it appears there as The Old Pigeon on the Gate almost exactly the same.

Sorry, didn’t know the alternative name. A friend asked me to submit this tune because he didn’t find it here: https://thesession.org/recordings/display/2013
Anyway, there’s a subtle yet nice difference in accidentals.
