Peter Flanagan’s Stony Steps (reel)

Another simple yet effective tune from Co. Fermanagh. Despite its name, this tune is probably not related to “The Stoney Steps”: https://thesession.org/tunes/571 I find it more similar to Cathal McConnell tune, Johnny McIljohn’s: https://thesession.org/tunes/1491

This transcription of the tune is based on the version recorded on “Hidden Fermanagh Vol.1,” and is slightly different from the one on the accompanying book.

P.S. This tune always reminds me of great Armagh flute player Ms. Sheena Vallely. I actually heard her play this tune when I was in a session in London this March. I’d love to be back there again to do a flute duet with her.
