The Killimor

from Chris Droney “Down From Bell Harbour”. It seemed quite a popular tune at Mrs Crottys last week.

Killimor jig

Thank God were surrounded by water by Dominic Behan I think

Composed by Sean Ryan (Tipperary).

Lucy Farr …

Plays this tune in a set after the Carraroe on Heart and Home. I was obsessed the set with it for days and I still find my self whistling it out of nowhere sometimes.

Heard on the Geantrai television show (Dec. 2 2007 episode with Claire Keville)

… in a set with Slieve Russell. Masterfully played by Tommy Keane, Jaqueline McCarthy, and Alec Finn. Great show!

The Killimor, X:2

I learned this setting from Frances Marriott from the playing of Ben Paley.

Eddie Moloney playing it !!!

AFAIK, videos from Eddie Moloney are not so frequent to miss that one !

Referring to the date “c. 1962”, and due to my ignorance concerning the life, and compositionnal work, of Sean Ryan (Tipperary), is it possible that he actually composed that tune ?
