Galope Et Chaine De Cotillon

This is a Traditional Quebec reel, so I’m told.

I was inspired to learn it having heard the version played by Pierre Schryer & Dermot Byrne on their 2 Worlds United CD (New Canadian Records - see http://www.pierreschryer.com). They go into Pointe Au Pic following an “A” part of Galope.

Ron Grosslein’s band Swallowtail has recorded Galope on their After The Dance CD - though I’ve not hear that recording (see http://www.swallowtail.com/after_the_dance.html). Thanks to Ron for the initial chart.

Surprisingly nice

The whole tunes ounds better if the 2nd part is played so as to stay in the key of Am (I tihink…)
