I can’t remember where I learned this.I think that the title means "Throwing Stones" but no doubt Ceolachan will correct me if i’m wrong.

"Tariad Carreg" ~ ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Yes, Carreg is a rock or stone, but what the hell is a ‘Tariad’? πŸ™‚

Now a really cool title would be something like "Tafliad Carreg"! That would be a nice title, yes, I like that, but it isn’t tossing rocks. Basically it means "A Stone’s Throw"… Could that be what you’re thinking of.

I know, if I was a mate I’d do the usual thing and quietly drop you an email without making a public display, but I’m in a mood you know, and you wouldn’t want to be around me at this moment unless you’re also in a funny mood and want to stay up all night laughing at silly things… That doesn’t mean I don’t care, of course I do, but the devil’s in me this evening… πŸ˜‰

Track 4, tune 3

I think it is a recent composition, but I haven’t that album at hand to confirm that…

I’ll be back! ~ after I find that information and can confirm anything…

I wasn’t sure about the title, and as I said before my Welsh is almost non-existent.I’ll edit the title.

Polca Mania ~

Sorry old friend ~ I said I was in a funny mood… Your Welsh isn’t non-existant, I just have an unfair advantage ~ maybe? Now you’ve submitted a polca / polka I’ll have to dig out a few others to accompany it… πŸ˜‰

‘Tarian’ neu ‘Tarddiad’ = a Welsh ‘Tardis’?

Now where did I last leave mine?

"Tafliad Carreg" ~ tipyn bach mwy ~

"Tafliad Carreg" / "A Stone’s Throw"

Tafliad = a throw ~ "tav - lee - ad"
Carreg = stone, rock, testicle, pip ~ "care - ag"

Porth Teigr

… is where your Tarddiad may be found, ceol (at this fector amser, in any case).

Nid wyf yn y Meddygfa, os bydd rhywun yn gofyn. ~ Newydd dda! πŸ˜€

I’d better stop putting off reviewing my rusty Welsh. Curiously, you’ve add this as I’ve been digitizing old cassettes. While I’ve an expert in the house, a native speaker, and more on her side of the family, the one closest to me has little patience with my stumbling through the language…

Fyng nith ydy’r Meddyg yn y teulu… T cerdd i fi, a dawns hefyd, fel arfer…

Dychwelyd i’r gerddoriaeth yn fuan. Onest.

A all y nith hedfan y Tarddiad?

Dylai Fi ‘n sylweddol ddysgu siarad Cymraeg. Byddai hyn os gwelwch yn dda fy Archdderwydd.

Re: A Stone’s Throw

I had not realised that my composition was on the session … I wrote this about 30 years ago, commissioned for a Welsh folk dance teaching recording. Mike Lease.
