Mull Of The Woods

A slow waltz of the kind sometimes referred to in Scotland as "Gaelic waltzes". Mull is one of the larger islands of the Hebrides, lying directly opposite Oban on the Scottish west coast.

Ossian’s version

There is a beautiful version, titled "Mull of the Mountains" on vinyl by Ossian (L.P. Seal Song, IONA IR002). It very well fits the Mixolydian mode of A.

This is a well-known pipe tune called ‘Mull Of The Mountains’ (Mull Na Morbheanna) which is itself the air of a Gaelic song..
