Goose Cove Gander has been added to 7 tunebooks.
Yeah, well this is another of my ditties wot got composed last summer after a visit to Cape Breton. We passed through goose cove on our way to see fiddlemaker Otis Thomas and had a look round (a “gander”) at the bay. Hence the terrible title. It’s not easy coming up with names. It could just have well been “The Itchy Kneecap” or “Oxter Moron” or “Jim’s Jig”.
I usually play this at the end of a set as I always seem to get faster and faster as I play it.
Nice Strathspey of similar name.
