I believe the key is Bb major, but it was not an option when submitting. Sounds great at a moderate pace.

Maybe O’Carolan wrote this for an ancestor of that most famous Crilly, Father Ted! I would learn it on the strength of that alone, but not in fecking B flat…

The version in "The Complete Works of O’Carolan" by Ossian Publishing differs slightly. It’s in Dmaj.

D maj version is in Donal O’Sullivan’s book on Carolan - that makes it worth respecting! It is really good to play on fiddle and not too difficult.
