The tune has also been used by a couple from Lindisfarne for a Celtic hymn called “Open To You”. I’ll put the cd details into the Recordings database, so there’s a record of it.
This isn’t a corrs song, it’s a trad one, right ??
Right.
Paddy’s Green Shamrock Shore
I’ve put this in as an alternative title and it’s come up on several other recordings. It’s not a jig. A waltz time would be more appropriate, and as far as I know, the Corrs are the only ones to call this melody “Erin’s Shore”. Paul Brady’s version takes some beating.
Re: Erin’s Shore
Thank you for clarifying this. I could not understand why I was suddenly whistling a Corrs tune when I hadn’t listened to the album for ages. And now I know! I’ve been learning Paddy’s Green Shamrock Shore. Doh!
