Apologies if I have done this wrong but I couldn’t find the same tune in the database, it’s certainly not the same tune as that listed as ‘The Sligo’. I learnt it in a lesson from Kevin Crawford.

Nice to see you here Stuart. It will be interesting to see if anyone has this tune under another title - ‘Sligo Reel’ seems a bit vague like it was just one he heard in Sligo one day!!

I was sure I’d posted this already, but can’t find it. It was recorded on Harry Bradley’s 1st CD, “Bad Turns & Horseshoe Bends”, released in 1999, and I reckon most players got it from there, almost certainly if they’re calling it by the name “Sligo Reel”, which was the name Harry gave to it.

The set (Fox On The Prowl / Sligo Reel / Balllna Lasses) starts at 4:13 in a 21 minute interview with Kevin, and he precedes the set by saying he got ‘Fox On The Prowl’ from Chris Droney, and he got the second tune from Peter Carberry, “who called it The Sligo”

“This reel was composed by South Sligo flute and fiddle player, James Murray” - Steph Geremia, in the 40 page book (which can be bought from http://stephgeremia.com/) giving transcriptions and notes about the tunes in her CD “Up She Flew”.
