Composed by Ronnie Cooper of Shetland. I transcribed this from the playing of The Hamefarers band from Shetland, who played it on Radio Scotland in 1991. The set was: Hayfield House/Peter Davidson/Millbrae, all Cooper tunes.
“Ronnie Cooper Week” continues ~ thanks Nigel
I’m going to try to alternate Shetland tune transcriptions with ones of his compositions…

Re: Peter Davidson
Peter Davidson was a well known Inverness musician on the accordion/dance band scene.
He worked in Bruce Millers (The Music Shop) in the late sixties and sold me my first guitar.
In the seventies, he became a traffic warden and could “stop the whole street with a wave of his hand” as the old song goes.
In the old days, wardens quite often performed “points duty” as did The Police. Although there were some traffic lights, these weren’t very efficient at busy times and they had to be switched off so that human beings could do the job instead.
