Donald McLean of Lewis

This, of course, is a 6/8 pipe march and not a jig, although it has been played as a jig in the past, particularly in Cape Breton.

It was written by P/M Donald McLeod and has become one of the pipe standards. You can read more about Donald McLeod here:

Donald McLean Of Lewis, X:4

Cracking version that I also had from a couple of pipers around Aberdeen, once upon a time. Taken from Volume 3 of Ceol na Fidhle, Highland Tunes for the Fiddle by Christine Martin.

Re: Donald McLean Of Lewis

X:4 is pretty much how I play this great 6/8 march but, Matt, does the fourth bar of the third part not start with a snap, as in B<de e>dB (and as it is, I see, in my copy of Ceol na Fidhle)?
