1) I’ve heard this played as a polka

2) It appears on “They Sailed Away from Dublin Bay” as The Moyglass Fair.

Johnny O’Leary’s

The setting that shows up as X:2 (in spite of ceolachan’s earlier additions) is as played by Jackie Daly, who calls the tune Johnny O’Leary’s. I posted it because the upward jump to the 4th note (e) in the first phrase and repeated throughout seems to me to be a defining feature that is missing from the other settings here.
