This is the opening track of Nuala Kennedy’s/The New Shoes debut album. On the CD she and Claire Mann play the tune in Gminor (on F whistles) so for those of you who want it here it is in G minor:

Sheet music already up - blimey that was fast!

That was under five minutes from posting to be converted and I was just about to make a slight change (only very slight - don’t worry)

At the start of the third part it should read:

E minor version:

|: z ge fde | instead of |: g2 e fde |

and in the G minor version:

|: z bg afg | instead of |: b2 g afg |

And again at the start of the second line of that part. I said it was slight but that first note is very clipped (the same length as the rest) and there is that small rest.

I am just going to amend the abcs accordingly.

The second time through the tune on the CD there is more harmonising between the two whistles with one of them playing up the octave with a slightly altered melody line. If you want to play that though then you are going to have to buy the CD (hardly a chore - it is fantastic!) 😛
