Re: Peter Murphy’s

X:2 — From Claire Mann & Aaron Jones, on "Secret Orders." The B rather than A for the first note makes a huge difference. I transcribed this for the concertina. I play it a bit differently on the flute: rolling the As rather playing ABA and cranning on the low D rather than playing DAD.

Peter Murphy’s, X:2

From "Secret Orders," Claire Mann and Aaron Jones. It’s lovely medley on their CD. The play it in Eb, so mutatis mutandis fecit. Pipers will have a fine time on the second part.

Re: Peter Murphy’s

From the sleeve notes of Billy McComiskie’s "Makin’ The Rounds" recording from 1981 :
"Peter Murphy, the late melodeon player from Connemara, Co. Galway, composed this single jig. He told me that it used to come to him when he was working in the fields."
