Bygone Days

A beautiful tune I heard on an Eileen Ivers CD.

Not a mazurka, a waltz… 😏

I heard this one at a concert that Eileen Ivers played in and instantly fell in love with it…. 🙂

This is one of my all time favorite tunes. It is lovely and lends itself to drone and ornamentation well in first position, but I believe there is a deepened Irish “mood” to the piece when played in third position. It is one of those most memorable, even “haunting” waltzes that, each time you hear it, it takes you somewhere.
