One more from Arcady’s “After The Ball” album.

On the album, it’s played after another Jig, “The Boys of Tandragee” and preceding two Reels, Hennessey’s and Cathal McConnell’s.

Up Ya Boya!

Lest I forget: I’m pretty sure that the transcription is not exactly true to the Arcady version.

Just another case of osmosis, I guess…

I’ve heard this before at a session where I live, but only ever once. Nice tune, but not very common where I am…

True. This jig is not among the most common tunes. Never mind. Here it is anyway.

Who Wrote It ?

This jig is reasonably weel-known in Brisbane, Quensland where I play.

What I’d like to know is who wrote it. Going by the rather silly name I’d say it’s a modern composition. Maybe Jackie Daly ?

Re: Up Ya Boya

I suspect the title is some Irish slang… and probably naughty?

Re: Up Ya Boya

Not at all, merely a shout of encouragement.
