Three comments

This Waltz was written by English fiddle player, Chris Wood.

It first appeared on the Chris Wood/Andy Cutting album ‘Lusignac’, after the song ‘Hares On The Mountains’ and is loosely based on the song’s melody.

Don’t play it too fast - it really needs space to breath.

I learned this version from accordionist Karen Tweed, who in turn learned it from her friend the composer, Chris Wood.

As for the repeats (the repeated and consequently longer B-part), that’s the way I learned it from Karen Tweed so that’s stuck with me and is accepted by the musicians I play with.

I got this from Doug Eunson last month. Beautiful waltz.

This tune was played by Chris Wood and Andy Cutting on the song “Hares on a Mountain,” tagged on to the end. Wonderful. It’s up there with Raggle Taggle Gypsy/Give Me Your Hand. I could be wrong, but I thought that Chris Wood named it after his wife. They played it in F.
