Nine comments

This tune goes nicely with Ashmolean House following it.

Variant in G

Here is a G major variant of this tune. It has a different feel to the Dmix version but I don’t think it is quite sufficiently different to merit a submission as a separate tune. This variant comes from an old New England collection of fiddle music.

The Cross Reel

A close variant of this tune is played in Shetland as The Cross Reel - I’m sure it’s on one of the "Da Silver Bow" albums played by Aly Bain and others. Also in Tom Anderson’s collection Ringing Strings.

relationships?

heard this on this very nice "forgotten gems" and The Glen Road To Carrick played by Tiarnan O Duinnchinn on Ceol is Piob comes to my mind…

Re: The Chorus

This tune and the Glen Road strike me as different variations of the same tune.
