Tom Connor’s (jig)
A simple, little jig from Eoghan O’Sullivan and Gerry Harrington’s box and fiddle duet playing. A bit of research shows Tom Connor was a Cork fiddler who passed on some local Sliabh Luachra tunes to Denis Murphy. There’s also a hornpipe associated with T. Connor, which appears on the first album of Teada.
Thanks for this one, slainte. I first heard this in a session in Sydney, played by some fiddlers who said they got it off the Sliabh Notes album. I had to add it in the other names section because of a problem with the apostrophe in "Connor’s". This now links to that album.
I beg your pardon, it wasn’t because of the apostrophe. I just noticed that the name I cut & pasted has the O’ in front of it.
Seems the band got this from the same source. Coming from a different part of the world, it goes nicely with Peggy’s Jig: https://thesession.org/tunes/3088
