“The Grumpy Old Fart”

I couldn’t very well call it "John Gillard’s", he’ll probably not like it anyway, and the name that kept sticking, "John Gillard’s Gizzard" just didn’t make any sense, not that any alternatives did either. But, checking his ‘details’ ~ I liked the possibilities of ‘fart’… 8-)

Forgive me John…

E Dorian into e minor

This started its life in the kitchen, preparing a meal for our coming guests, Zina & John, and then went into e minor after they’d left…

If there were a pantomime of Robin Hood I think that John would make a good Friar Tuck, though he might prefer Little John and to call me out for a stick fight…

~ | B^AB dcB =AFD | ~

That was quicker than me, I’d missed that return to =A… :-/

Huh?! ~ Someone has already tagged this and I’ve only just made the correction… Whoever you are, don’t tell John, please!
:-/

Who’s the culprit? Tommy Hayes?

Nah, he used to like this sort of thing, but he’s innocent.

I’ve waited to add the following, some craziness that comes on me now and then, but Tommy ain’t the blame, even if he rhythmically drives things this way now and then. It’s origins go a lot further back, way back… (to the time of galliards and beyond) 8-)

Here’s some fun I have had with this little number (N=note) ~
~ | N2 N- N2 N NNN | ~ | N2 N- N N2 NNN | = | N2 N2 N2 NNN | ~

A-part, bar 2
~ | A2 F- F2 ^E F=ED | ~ | A2 F- F ^E2 F=ED | ~
bar 4
~ | e2 E- E2 G FED :| ~ | e2 E- E G2 FED :| ~
bar 8 & B-part, bar 1
~ | e2 E- E2 g fed |] ~ | e2 E- E g2 fed |] ~

I try to top:

A-part, bar 2
| A F2-F2 ^E F=ED |
;-)

You too? Yes, I too like to ‘skip’, ocassionally… 8-)
