I realize it is done to alleviate redundancy but the title of this tune should be Jerry’s Pipe Jig. It’s not a jig named Jerry’s Pipe. It’s a jig for pipes composed by Jerry [Holland]. I admit I’m picking nits.
"Jerry’s Pipe Jig" ~ another composition of Cape Breton fiddler Jerry Holland
It comes out in the ways Malcombpipe… 😉
I’d say he was ‘remembering’, if imperfectly, rather than necessarily composing. This seems a direct take on one or two old jigs. I’ll leave that to slainte or others to bring to the surface. The A-part for sure… But the way may brain works it may take days before I remember what I’m remembering…and it might be seconds…
Possibly another key, though as given here I wouldn’t play it in D but in A Dorian with the c natural ~ or possibly I’m just that familiar with a number of Jerry’s tunes? But, you can’t deny this one has hints of several, a bit of that Frankenstein monster about it, which I have myself been guilty of now and again, if not completely aware of it at the time… 😏 ~ Another possible key?!

I changed it to A Mixolydian. A Dorian is another good possibility but C naturals aren’t very "pipe" friendly… though they are fun to play on pipes.
RIght you are malcombpiper… Despite its similarities, it is still a good tune…

Re: Jerry’s Pipe
Confusing - This is NOT Jerry’s Jig but Jerry’s Pipe Jig.
Pity I really need to get the notes for Jerry’s Jig
