I first heard this fine Shetland tune on a fiddle weekend in the Yorkshire Dales by Jenna Reid - she follows it nicely with ‘Da Fashion O Da Delting Lasses’ and ‘Up and Doon da Harbour’ on her CD ‘Da Homin’ (see Recordings link)
This is a Nigel Gatherer transcription that I found on JC Tunefinder:

:-/ ~ there’s absolutely no difference between your transcription and Nigels?
Nice little tune by the way, rings like a song. Are there lyrics?
What I meant was that the transcription I’ve submitted was found on the JC site, where it is attributed to NigelG ! :-)
Don’t know if there’s an associated song. Nigel?
:-D ~ I had wondered… Good on you for crediting the source, one of our members and someone who has contributed a lot of useful information in this digital realm and also in the ‘reel world’…
Never heard any words to this tune. I’ve always liked the tune.
Reminds me of Billy Boy
Im not even saying its a variant, but it reminded me of Billy Boy. Here’s Billy Boy in AA BB…

Maybe that’s what was rolling around in the mud of my mind snorting nonsense syllables longing to join up into lyrics?
