Composed by….??

Michael McGoldrick? I think… I don’t have the cd on me to check right now though.

A talented musician who obviously doesn’t know how to dance a mazurka, or much else about them… 😏

Seems like more of a 3/2 to me from where I’ve heard the tune….

Yes, maybe he hasn’t intended for it to be a ‘mazurka’, but some version of 3s? 😏 What does it say on the notes for the CD?

12/8 ~ 3+3+2+2+2 ~ 😏 ?

Mixed meter ~ slow, slow, quick, quick, quick ~ 12/8

About 2:22

12/8 ~ 3+3+2+2+2 ~ !!!

Thanks for the listen Weejie ~ too many chores here to chase it up myself…

Music

Yes it is McGoldrick

Just wondering if anyone has the guitar chords for this piece? need them asap.

Re: Wired To The Moon

I think this is categorized as a Mazurka just to have a place to put it. The version I heard is primarily in 5/4 with a couple of 6/4 measures in the B part. I don’t see any way to input a setting here with such a complicated time signature. I haven’t input settings before so maybe somebody knows a way to do it…

Re: Wired To The Moon

The transcription above matches the recording pretty well. I’d never call it a mazurka, though, rather a Solas/Riverdance type of jig: xxx xxx|x2 x2 x2|

@Robert:
You put the new metre within square brackets, so if it’s a 5/4 tune, you’d have M:5/4 in the header, then the exception, then back to normal… Something like this (made up melody):
[M:6/4] cd ef ga|[M:5/4]gfe dB|
