Eleven comments

A wonderful tune from Sharon Shannon, which I spent several hours today transcribing from a video from the Transatlantic Sessions.

For a more normal key…

great transcription jck!

Yes, a very good transcription. I play this in G, rather than F. It’s a bit more English-concertina friendly for myself and other trad musicians should find G very acceptable. Also G isn’t too far away from Sharon’s original key, so it retains the character, I think.

Name

Is there anybody being able to explain a German lad what a "neck belly" is? I searched it everywhere on the net but haven’t found an answer so far…

My contribution

Just worked on that tune today

My contribution

Just worked on that tune today and made a transcription in E major. Once done, I discovered that was already done here…
Anyway here it is…:

The tune was not just written by Sharon Shannon. It was a Sharon Shannon and Jim Murray collaboration.
