this tune can be heard on track 15 of Music at Matt Molloys under the title "Set Of Single Jigs Learned From Kevin’s Father (John’s Grandfather)". I’ve always thought this was a very charming tune. Glad to see it posted!
Funny - I thought I already wrote that when I posted the tune. It is played by Kevin McHugh himself, together with his son, John. The tune which comes after it is the other Kevin McHugh’s Jig which was posted a few days ago.
I tried to post this one as Kevin McHugh’s #2 to avoid confusion, but for some reason the suffix disappeared.

This would have been better transcribed in 6/8 I think.
Our resident flute-guru at the session (Stuart) likes to play a simpler variation of this. The extended holds give it a more bouncy feel.

For some reason two measures are missing from the abc/sheet music from the tune offered by bdh above. It’s fine in his posting but the two measures at the end of part A went missing in the version at the top of the page.
