Mrs. Crotty’s Hornpipe

I’ve posted the basic tune, in C, as taught by Gearoid O hAllmhurain at the Catskills Irish Arts Week in 2008.

Here’s a way to flesh it out a little, working from my memory of what Gearoid taught, two months later.

And here it is in D for them that prefers it that way.

Mrs Crotty’s

Thank you very much for posting this tune. Heard it last year during Éigse Mrs Crotty in Kilrush played by Jack Talty but couldn’t find it. Playful tune on the concertina.

The Pooka

Sean Maguire had this as "The Pooka" in "Irish Tunes by the 100," a collection he published with Josephine Keegan in 1975.

It has a resemblance to "The Arkansas Traveller."
