This is one of my favourite tunes on the Kathryn Tickell Band’s newest CD, "Instrumental." Got stuck in my head, so I had to transcribe it. I hope my ABC does the tune justice!

Author?

Did she compose it herself?

Pots And Pencils

No, it was composed by her brother Peter Tickell, who like her is a fiddler.

On "Instrumental" it’s played in A and comes over well - very nicely arranged.

Sorry, I should have mentioned I pushed the tuning down to ‘G’. Nasty habit, not playing a fiddle and all ;)

Key

Since I play mandolin, G is fine for me. The beginning might be slightly easier in A, the rest is not.

Re: Pots And Pencils

I was so pleased to find this on here! It is part of my favourite set from my favourite folk album. I’m going to have a go at it on euphonium, so I’ll probably re-transpose it again into F.
