@ Swisspiper

It is after posting my above comment that I have read yours. So my apologizes for not having answered more directly to your question (though my comment was sort of answer ;o).
But :
What makes you think it is a duplicate ?

It’s not remotely the same tune!

It really isn’t. I can’t see any relation whatsoever, myself.

Apart form anything else, this one - which is one of my favourites, btw, has a first part in A dor and a second part in G. The other one is, fairly dully, in D throughout.

But also, the notes and the patterns of notes just aren’t even similar. In any respect.

Now that it’s up here, I’ll give you my ABCs for it …

Two different tunes sharing the same name. So shocking. It shouldn’t be allowed!

Presumably you read the comment above suggesting it was the *same* tune, eh, Dow?

To my ear, they’re different but close cousins.

Close cousins?

Interesting, eh? I seriously can’t hear any connection at all. I’m obviously missing something … the frustration being that I can’t see any way for you (or anyone) to explain it to me, Will. Mind you, you’re better at explaining things than I am, so you could always have a go. :-)

… and I still haven’t posted my ABCs for it …

I’m sure this is on Sarah McFadyen and Kris Drever’s duet album.

"To my ear, they’re different but close cousins."

I’m sure there are other tunes with different names more closely related to the other tune with the same name than this one is.

This happens to be one of my favourite slip-jigs, so any suggestion that it is merely a version of some other tune will result in a response with a pH of somewhere between 3.0 and 5.5.
