Another harmless little polka picked up down in Miltown, a great source for odds and ends of tunes. Bears some similarity obviously in opening bars to the well know Rattlin’ Bog and also Little Diamond but thereafter it goes it’s own way.
Hope I haven’t offended JoeCSSS with my ‘s!
Nope, all present and correct this time, keep up the good work!
Nice tune by the way.
Fado Fado we used to call this Julia Clifford’s Polka.
I believe it appears as such in a number of albums, James Keane’s being one of them. Pete Bradley - not so sure I ever heard it called by that name here in West Cork … but who knows ???? Hope this is of some help.
Also…. I believe the second part might not be quite right.
I’ll check it out further and submit any up-dates.
This is recorded on the Scully Fest CD from 2015, here:
It’s listed as "The Bog Above Bob Gorman’s Bog" there, which is a much more interesting title. I got it off of Mark Bickford, up in Ithaca, NY.
