Six comments

Not a barndance, in fact I’m not so sure 4/4 is right for it, but it’s best to forget the time signature and play the tune.

This tune, written by Brian Finnegan for Sarah Allen, is an incredible slow air, and the name means "The Quiet Mind".

I’m always impressed by Brian’s creativity with tunes, and how he seems to think outside the box, at least in this tune.

Can anybody tell me how to pronounce the title?

This is essentially how it’s played, but on a flute in the key of F.

Correction

The last bit is more like this:

|c3B def2|B2B2 B3E|F2B2 d2ed|f2B2 G2A2|
|e2f2 d2c2|A4- A2(3AGF|A8-|A8||

I’m no Gaelic scholar, but wouldn’t that title mean ‘peace of mind’ rather than quiet mind, which would be ‘Intinn Ciuin’.
Its pronounced "SoovNess In-Tin"

Thanks for that, Rollix. It’s a daunting title to people like me with little knowledge of Gaelic…

Anybody have clues on the backing to this tune?
