The Midlothian Pipe Band

My abc submission is based on a recording of the tune made by the Richard Fitzgeral Ceili Band in 1967. Transcribed from memory - hopefully reasonably accurate, but please forgive any errors.

Member nigelg has advised that this setting is an adaptation from the original pipe march. Here is the original abc, as transcribed by Nigel:

The composer, Pipe Major Farquhar Beaton, died in 1916 in Toronto. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, but in which year???
