Drunken Acrobat

This is a great tune by Colin Farrell that I got from the Flook album ‘haven’. They play it in E so that’s how I’ve submitted it but for whistlers it’s best played on an A whistle for Emaj. Here it is in A.

Egad, this means he must be playing the “Asturian Way” set on a B whistle!… Thank goodness I own one…

I do quite love Colin Ferrel’s tunes. All of the ones I’ve heard thus far I’ve loved.

Aye, he’s playing it there on an Overton B, the above is for an A whistle as they’re more common but obviously just transpose the above down one note the the G shape scale to get E major on a B whistle (if that makes any sense 🙂)

I own an E Low Whistle:

Actually, from watching the video, it looks like Brian’s playing in A on an A whistle, but I may not have seen right. It wouldn’t be a shock if it were a B, seeing how as he used one on the “Mouse Jigs” set.

Joe, so my version it is he plays !?

No Swisspiper, either way he is not playing your version. Some notes are in the wrong octave and you’ve also missed out notes.

Re: The Drunken Acrobat

The set (Asturian Way) which includes this tune, as well as the Mouse Jigs set, are played by Brian Finnegan on an A whistle…he’s half holing the D sharp to pay in B on the tune Asturian Way
