Lady Louisa Gordon

A great strathspey by William Marshall I believe. I first heard it listening to Alasdair Fraser’s CD ‘Return to Kintail’ - I’ll also post the other 2 tunes in the set, which I really like - The Highlands of Banffshire (strathspey) and The Merrymaking (reel)

Yes, I have a signed cassette by Alastair that my father got me at a highland games in Ohio many years ago with this tune on it and it’s fantastic.

Re: Lady Louisa Gordon’s

The Gows published this in the 4th Repository (Early 19thC) under the title "Miss McLeod’s Favorite" (and credited Marshall). Later, in Marshall’s posthumous second collection (1845), it was called "Miss Farquharson of Invercauld".
