Michael Joseph Dunne ~ 2nd of January 1925 - 12th of September 2009

When thinking of you Michael hornpipes came to mind… This one fluttered in and I could not find it anywhere… Thanks for the times ~ the smiles, the laughs, the chat and gossip, the music and the dance. It was always more fun with you involved, and discussing controversies and injustices you always made it easy to see the comedy in it all, even when it made you angry there was a light in your eyes and a smile, if wry.

You will always be in our hearts and somehow this hornpipe seemed to rise from there too…

Here it is sans the >, and also followed by some other ways with it…

Lovely tribute

Ceolachan, I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your friend! You have, however, crafted a wonderful tune in his memory—thanks for sharing it!

Be well,
Peter/muspc

“The Ostrich In The Bush”

This alternate title is for a bush in Michael’s back garden that he cut to represent an ostrich, after a visit to Africa. At the least, his name deserves a good planxty, and maybe that will come to mind while I go over some of the tunes he used to love playing… I did consider an alternate title of "The Snowy Breasted Ostrich", but then decide to give that a pass. He would have gotten a laugh out of that. Michael’s bush has white flowers. He wasn’t well pleased, with a laugh, when I mistook it for a swan…

Thanks Peter, appreciated…

;-)
