Victoria’s Jig

I found this tune, by Ian Lowthian, on Mabon’s CD, Ridiculous Thinkers and decided to learn it because it’s cool!

This is one hell of a pretentious tune. I heard him play it at the Folkworks finale concert I think 2 years ago, and I thought so then, too, but I’d forgotten about it till now… I mean, it’s kind of good, like catchy and everything, but puh-leeeze!

(Yes, this is coming from someone who likes the Wizard’s Walk!)

Could you squeeze in a few more measures in the first line please, it’s too easy on my eyes.

also, is it in C minor, or G minor? C minor has two flats, and G minor has three

The A part is in C minor, the B part in major.

You do have a point there, Joe. But pretentious tunes are quite amusing to play!

Earl - it’s the other way round. Cm = 3 flats, Gm = 2 flats.

Martin - that is very true, I must admit!

Maybe this would be easier on the fiddle in A rather than C?

no wait, that would make the first part virtually impossible. Scrap that.
