Eternal Father Strong To Save has been added to 10 tunebooks.
British/American Naval Hymn.
Beautiful Melody from British Isles.
Go along to an Irish session, say, “Hey lads, does anybody know “Eternal Father Strong To Save”? You tell me what happens next………….
To Kenny - I’m not sure what point you are making here?
I would have thought that Kenny’s point was fairly obvious. This website was set up for the dance music of Ireland. That has, over the years, broadened to a degree and the database includes lots of Scottish tunes as well as tunes from other related traditions (although I know that Kenny is not too keen on this braodening). What the website is not however is a hymn book.
Kenny’s point, to my mind, is that this is not a traditional tune, or even a tune in ‘the traditional style’. Whether it is a good tune or not (and it doesn’t particularly grab me) it is not a tune that belongs on this website.
